1. Installation and Pipeline Matching
For filter elements on high-pressure pipelines, vertical installation is preferred. Horizontal mounting tends to cause air accumulation and uneven local flow velocity. Verify port specifications and tightening torque; over-tightening is prohibited to avoid end cap deformation and seal failure. Install strictly in accordance with the flow direction marked on the filter housing. Reversed installation will damage the graded structure of the layered media, resulting in a sharp rise of differential pressure and reduced filtration efficiency. When multiple filters are installed in parallel, ensure even flow distribution to prevent overload on individual elements.
2. Medium and Temperature Control
Standard BN glass fiber filter elements are designed for mineral hydraulic oil, with an operating temperature range of -30℃ to 100℃. FKM seals are mandatory for sustained oil temperatures above 100℃ or applications with synthetic oil and fire-resistant hydraulic fluid. Prevent water ingress leading to oil emulsification and mixing of different types of hydraulic oil. Sludge and colloids will accelerate filter clogging and seal deterioration. It is recommended to equip water-oil separators and conduct regular oil quality testing.
3. Pressure and System Protection
Select high-pressure filter elements with reinforced frames for systems under high pressure and severe pressure pulsation, matching the system’s rated pressure. Monitor differential pressure closely and replace elements promptly when the alarm value of 0.2~0.35 MPa is reached. The bypass valve is only for emergency use. Long-term operation with the bypass open is not allowed, as bypassed contaminants will wear out precision components such as valve assemblies and plungers.
