How to choose a suitable HYDAC filter element?

I. Determine 4 Basic Core Conditions First

Clarify the installation position first (the most critical first step)

Suction filter element: Model with letter D

Installed at the oil inlet of the oil pump; low pressure and coarse filtration to protect the oil pump; filtration accuracy: 20~100μm.

Pressure line filter element: Model with letter H

Installed at the pump outlet and in front of valve groups; high-pressure fine filtration, essential for servo and precision hydraulic systems; filtration accuracy: 3~10μm.

Return line filter element: Model with letter R

Installed on the system return line to the oil tank; large dirt holding capacity with bypass valve; filtration accuracy: 10~50μm.

Duplex / High-pressure line filter: Model with RF/DF

Support non-stop switching; specially used for high-pressure systems in petrochemical and heavy industry.

Confirm system working pressure

Low pressure condition: ≤1.6MPa → Choose D/R series

Medium and high pressure: 21~32MPa → Choose H series

Ultra-high pressure: ≥42MPa → Choose high-pressure DF/RF models

Confirm filtration accuracy (according to equipment precision)

Ordinary hydraulic systems (oil cylinders, conventional valves): 10~20μm

Servo systems, proportional valves, precision machine tools: 3~5μm

General return line working conditions: 20~50μm

Lubrication systems, gearboxes: 5~10μm

Match system flow rate

The rated flow of the filter element shall be 1.2~1.5 times the maximum system flow.

An undersized element will cause high pressure difference, flow resistance and shorter service life; an oversized one will result in cost waste.5_103749_看图王

II. Understand HYDAC Model Coding for Direct Selection

Example: 0160D010BN4HC

0160: Specification, dimension and flow rate

D: Installation type (D=suction / H=pressure line / R=return line)

010: Filtration accuracy 10μm

BN: Glass fiber material; HC: Reinforced high-pressure structure

Common filter material codes:

BN4HC: Glass fiber, high pressure resistance and high dirt holding capacity, most widely used in industry

W: Stainless steel woven mesh, washable and corrosion-resistant

P: Paper filter material, economical and low-cost

III. Seal Material Selection (Adapt to Medium & Temperature)

Ordinary hydraulic oil & normal temperature: NBR (Nitrile Rubber) (standard configuration)

High temperature, synthetic oil & corrosive medium: FKM (Fluorine Rubber)

Water-glycol and water-based media: EPDM (EPDM Rubber)

Operating temperature reference:

NBR: -10℃~100℃

FKM: -20℃~120℃
